"My wife and I did extensive research before selecting a roofing contractor. We reviewed all available material options. For durability and aesthetic reasons, we had our hearts set on Decra stone-coated metal shingles. It became a focal point of our exterior renovation. We interviewed at least eight different companies. Most contractors either had their own “version” that was similar but not the same or didn’t work with metal roofing at all. From the very beginning, Matthew at NYNJ was not only interested but enthusiastic. He met with us multiple times prior to any agreements being signed, just to be sure we were confident and aligned. He was and has been extremely communicative before, during, and after the installation. His crew was notably conscientious about cleanup at the end of each workday, especially during the very messy demo of the existing asphalt roof. "I hired NY NJ Roofing to put a new roof on my home. I have to say they did a beautiful brilliant job. The crew and the supervisors were professional and skilled and were courteous and friendly. "I am extremely surprised at the way Matt has treated us. Matt reviewed the existing roof on a shed on my property on Thursday, June 26th. We spent a few hours reviewing the roof replacement project and came to a handshake agreement in terms of cost and schedule. I have been waiting for a contract so that we could seal the deal and can start the permitting process. We spoke again on July 1st where he stated that he would have the contract ready after the holiday weekend. Since then, we have not heard from him, he does not accept our calls nor responds to text. As I stated, I am extremely surprised considering all of the positive reviews listed with Google. We hope and pray that all is well with him, however this is not a good business tactic for a professional and hopefully will avoid doing this in the future. We gave you 3 stars because we have faith that there was a legitimate reason for your disappearance. Hey Matt, we hope you read this, your sudden disappearance with no explanation is not cool at all. Thank you, sir. 07/17/2026 I would like to update my recent review, as a retired Professional Construction Manager for the City of New York, I realize the importance of reputation to the ownership of this company. After posting my initial review, I received a call from Matt and arranged a meeting early the next morning. Again, I would like to stress that my training dictates that I am tuned to the details of an organizations business strategy and in this case, I agree reputation is key in the appropriation of new work. At our morning meeting, Matt divulged that he and his office was extremely busy (swamped) in providing the services to 4 major projects that were in progress at the same time. He explained further that his company is dedicated to giving the best service and final product to all of his clients and because of this dedication, it required that he work 16 to 18 hours a day and was just not able to communicate properly to me. He offered an apology for his poor communication, and I accepted it. Going forward we, both agreed that communication is extremely important part of providing a service. Nevertheless, we reviewed the full scope of work for my project and came up with a revised plan that we both agreed reflects a better understanding of our expectations for the final results of this project. Based on this new approach and the transparency offered by Matt, I feel that there is every reason to readjust my original review to a Five-star standing. I am of the sincere opinion that NYNJ Roofing will continue to work hard at providing a quality service to me and all its clients as they have done in the past. Thank you."
